About the Varney Travelling Scholarship

The Varney Travelling Scholarship is awarded annually to support educational experiences overseas including study at an international school of architecture or working overseas in an architect's office.

Please note that this round is intended to support travel commencing in 2026.

Students should aim to have completed at least one year of study at masters level before travelling.

One scholarship of approximately AU$8,000 will be offered to a student currently enrolled in the Melbourne School of Design. The scholarship is not intended to, but may cover all associated costs.

Incomplete applications and/or applications received after the closing date will not be considered.

This section of the application form is designed to help you, and us, understand if you are eligible for this scholarship. It is crucial that you complete these questions before any others to ensure you do not waste your time applying for an unsuitable scholarship.

  • I will have completed at least 100 points of my masters program prior to travel
